Our hotel is located at the region of Karyofyto."Ano" and "Kato" Karyofyto is located in Prefecture of Xanthi, at about 12 km Northern of Stavroupoli and river Nestos valley, and about 38 km from the town of Xanthi.
It is located at an altitude of 600m with a view to river Nestos valley.This location, considering its climatic conditions, is the ideal place for one to live.It is worth saying that before the second world war, a lot of people with respiratory problems mainly, were visiting the traditional hostels.
In these days,the population is 162 people.There are also three traditional taverns well known for their tasty country cookery, a traditional coffee house and a mini market.
Currently alternative tourism is flourishing in the region due to the rare natural beauty and the historical and folklore diversity.It is worth mentioning that Kato Karyofyto is characterised as a traditional protected settlement.
Nature
The region is overgrown with oaks, pine trees, many fruitful trees and at a higher altitude we can see beeches and firs.
In addition it should be noted that the region has a rich (bird) fauna(brown bears, wolves, foxes, lynxes, wild cats, wild boars, hares, roes, rare deers, wild turkeys, wild hens, vultures, king-eagles).That is why the region is characterised as a Natura zone.
